How it works
A clearer way to compare options
We keep the process short, honest, and centered on your family's actual situation — not a sales script. Here's exactly what happens.
- 01
Start with what matters
We begin with a conversation about broad timing, preferred area, household and care priorities, and budget context. This is a conversation, not a clinical assessment — we're not evaluating medical needs or making a diagnosis.
- 02
Understand the available paths
We explain the differences between smaller residential homes, larger assisted living communities, and other levels of care, and talk through whether a smaller home looks like a fit for your situation specifically.
- 03
Review a focused set of options
Before any referral is made, we provide our written referral disclosure explaining how we're paid and what the referral relationship means for you. The homes we discuss may not include every home in the area that could meet your needs.
- 04
Prepare for visits and questions
We help you prepare questions for tours — drawing on resources like our tour checklist — and coordinate introductions where we can.
- 05
Decide, with appropriate support
You make the final decision. Admission, pricing, care, and the facility itself remain the home's responsibility, not ours — we're a guide through the process, not the operator of any home.
A few specifics
Questions about
the process.
These cover how the process itself works — see our homepage FAQ for broader questions about residential assisted living.
Will I be pressured to choose a particular home?
No. Our role is to help you understand and compare options — the decision is yours. If a referral relationship exists with a home we discuss, we disclose that before a referral is made.
Can we stop working with Senior Home Connections at any time?
Yes, at any time, without cost or penalty. If you stop, we'll let any homes you were referred to know, consistent with our referral disclosure.
Does this conversation replace a medical or clinical assessment?
No. We talk through your situation in plain terms, but we don't perform clinical assessments or make medical recommendations. Where a formal assessment is needed, that comes from a qualified professional, not from us.
